Terms
This is a personal site. Everything here is written by Bobby Smart, reflects my own views and experience, and doesn't speak for any employer, client, or publication, including Codewalkers, which has its own editorial standards.
What the writing is (and isn't)
Articles are field notes: what I built, what it cost, what broke, and what I'd do differently. They're technical information and opinion. They are not professional, legal, financial, or security advice. Tools change fast; a benchmark or price quoted at publication time may be wrong by the time you read it. Verify before you rely on anything in production.
Honesty about incentives
I pay for the tools I write about out of my own pocket. This site currently carries no advertising, no sponsored posts, and no affiliate links. If that ever changes, the affected content will say so clearly at the top of the piece itself.
Using the writing
Text and images are © Bobby Smart. Quote freely with attribution and a link back; don't republish whole articles, present my work as yours, or reuse it in a context that misrepresents what it says. Linking to any page is always welcome and never needs permission.
Using the code
Code snippets published in articles are free to use in your own projects, commercial or not, without attribution. They're examples, and examples should be usable. Complete projects linked from here carry their own licenses in their repositories.
Availability
Pages may change, move, or be rewritten as I learn better. The RSS feed, sitemap, and llms.txt always describe the current public content. Automated access is fine at reasonable rates; don't scrape in ways that degrade the site for people.
Contact
Corrections and disagreements are welcome. Being wrong in public is part of the deal. Reach me through the profiles on the about page. Last updated: July 2026.
